Iranian feature film ‘A Hairy Tale’ has been set to attend the 35th Warsaw International Film Festival in Poland.
The film that counts as Hamayoun Ghanizadeh’s debut feature as a director will be in competition at the ‘International Competition’ section of the Polish film event.
A brief synopsis for the film reads, “A young man aspiring to become an actor has a day time job at a barber’s shop and he takes his night time to practice acting.
Kazem, the shop owner and the young man’s boss, has a friend named Manfred. One night Manfred comes to the shop wanting to buy some long women’s hair at a good price”.
Produced by Ali Mosaffa, the film’s cast includes Ali Nasiriyan, Saber Abar, Babak Hamidiyan, Reza Kianian and Hediyeh Tehrani.
‘A Hairy Tale’ took its premiere at the 37th Fajr Film Festival in Iran and won 4 awards including the best first film award.
Launched in 1985, the Warsaw International Film Festival is an annual event featuring films of various genres from around the world. The festival also organizes workshops for young film critics and journalists.
The latest edition of the event is slated for October 11-20, 2019.
